Why Edu Partners?

Karen Wattenmaker is an educational consultant specializing in the systems needed to support Multilingual Learners. She is a former classroom English Language Development (ELD) teacher, Dual Immersion teacher, instructional coach, program administrator, and data assessment and research analyst.

In these roles, she designed a tool to help teachers implement best practices for creating language outcomes. This tool was celebrated by WIDA and led to an invitation to present at a National WIDA conference. In addition, she co-designed and implemented a knowledge-based ELD curriculum centered on research-based practices. This curriculum resulted in over 70% of EL students scoring in the superior range on ACCESS growth, and 95% of ALL students scoring adequate growth over the two-year trial.
